Led from Gouriqua Park by Johan Petrus Botha
Johan Petrus Botha is the Managing Director and the person keeping the standard steady across every job we take on. With J&E Sheet Metal founded in 2013 and based in Gouriqua Park, Mossel Bay, Johan has built the business around practical steel and sheet metal work that suits local homes, workshops and industrial sites. He understands what coastal humidity, wind and salt air do to a roof and he plans accordingly.
Johan spends time on measurements, site checks and final sign-off, because a neat finish starts long before the first sheet goes up. He keeps the team focused on clear communication, safe working and work that lasts through load-shedding repairs, winter rain and summer heat.
Operations, estimating and the day-to-day planning
Leandri van Wyk manages operations, so jobs move in the right order and materials arrive when they should. She keeps track of the workload, helps line up site visits and makes sure clients know what is happening next. That matters when a gutter leak, flashing repair or roof sheet replacement needs action before the next rain band comes in off the bay.
Carla April handles estimating and quotes with the kind of detail clients need when they are comparing options. She measures up the scope, notes the material requirements and helps keep pricing clear for cladding, gutters, carports and steel structures. Her work is especially useful for body corporates, builders and property owners who want the numbers straight from the start.
- Site measuring for accurate take-offs
- Quotes for custom flashings and gutter work
- Planning for Mossel Bay, Hartenbos and Great Brak River
- Scheduling that fits weather and access on site
Workshop fabrication with Ruan Goliath
Ruan Goliath is our Workshop Foreman and the one keeping fabrication on track. In the workshop, accuracy matters because a custom flashing that is even a few millimetres out can give trouble once it gets to the roof. Ruan works carefully on gutters, flashings and steel parts so the installation team gets pieces that fit properly first time.
His hands-on approach is especially useful for jobs around George, Wilderness and Sedgefield where a mix of older buildings and newer structures often needs a made-to-fit solution. Ruan also keeps an eye on material use, which helps cut waste and keeps turnaround times sensible.
Mziwoxolo Ndamase on site and in control
Mziwoxolo Ndamase is our Site Supervisor and the link between the workshop and the people on the ground. He checks that the crew has the right sheets, fixings, flashings and safety gear before installation begins. On a roof, that kind of preparation saves time and avoids unnecessary rework.
He also looks after site discipline, access and daily progress, especially on steel frame erection and cladding jobs where timing and sequence matter. Mziwoxolo is calm under pressure, which helps when a site changes on the day or the weather turns and the team needs to adjust quickly.
- Oversees roof sheet installation and wall cladding
- Checks safety, access and lifting on site
- Coordinates with clients, builders and property owners
- Monitors progress on carports and steel structures
Roofing, cladding and the hands on installation crew
Siphesihle Mbatha handles roofing and cladding installation, bringing practical skill to the parts of the job customers see every day. He knows how to work cleanly on pitched roofs, wall lines and edge details so the finished job looks straight and drains properly. In a coastal area like Mossel Bay, that attention to alignment and fixing detail matters because wind and moisture will find any weak point.
The installation team works across Mossel Bay, Hartenbos, Great Brak River and the wider southern Cape on roof leak repairs, gutter replacement, cladding and carports. They are used to working around occupied homes, business premises and active building sites, which means less fuss for the client and better control on the job.
Why a local team makes a difference
Our team is local to the area, so we understand the conditions that affect steel and sheet metal work here. Salt air, sudden weather shifts, municipal requirements and the need to keep a property working during repairs all shape how we plan each job. That is why we measure properly, communicate clearly and choose methods that suit the site instead of forcing a one-size approach.
From Gouriqua Park to George, and from small maintenance inspections to full steel frame erection, the people at J&E Sheet Metal work as one group with shared responsibility. The job only finishes when the roof is watertight, the gutters run right and the structure is ready for daily use.
When you deal with us, you are speaking to a team that knows the area, knows the materials and knows what it takes to finish the work properly.
The people you will deal with
Every project has a few different hands on it, and each person has a clear role. That keeps things orderly from first contact through to final check. It also means clients know who is handling what, whether it is estimating, site supervision, workshop fabrication or installation.
